"saying, βThese last have spent one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat!β" (Matthew 20:12)
Grace vs. Fairness
Human fairness says, "I earn what I deserve." God's grace says, "I give what is good because I am good."
Those hired early agreed to a denarius. Those hired at the 11th hour received the same denarius out of the master's generosity. God gives salvation not based on how long we have served Him, but based on His promise.
Key Lesson: Do not be envious of God's grace to others. Salvation is a gift, not a wage we earn.
