"“Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it?" (Luke 15:4)
God's Pursuit of the Sinner
This parable reveals the heart of God towards those who are lost. The shepherd doesn't say, "I have 99, that's enough." He values the one individual sheep intensely.
When he finds it, he doesn't punish it. He joyfully puts it on his shoulders and carries it home. Then he calls his friends to celebrate.
Jesus concludes: "There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent."
Key Lesson: You are never too lost for God to find. He isn't waiting for you to find your way back; He is actively searching for you.
