Judging Others
Jesus uses hyperbole (exaggeration) to expose our tendency to be critical of others while ignoring our own greater faults.
A "speck" is a tiny particle; a "log" or "plank" is a massive beam used to support a roof. It is ridiculous to try to perform delicate eye surgery on someone else when you are blinded by a giant beam.
Key Lesson: Judge yourself before you judge others. Deal with your own sin first, so you can help others with humility rather than arrogance.
