The Parable of the Budding Fig Tree

Matthew 24:32-35
The Parable of the Budding Fig Tree - Matthew 24:32-35 | Bible Hunger

"“Now from the fig tree learn this parable. When its branch has now become tender, and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near." (Matthew 24:32)

Watching for the End

Distinct from the Barren Fig Tree, this parable is about alertness. Jesus encourages His disciples to read the signs of history just as they read the signs of nature.

It gives hope that His return is certain. "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." We are called to be watchful and ready.

Key Lesson: Be watchful and discern the signs. Jesus' return is certain and near.
