"“His lord commended the dishonest manager because he had done wisely, for the children of this world are, in their own generation, wiser than the children of the light." (Luke 16:8)
Using Wealth Wisely
This difficult parable acts as a contrast. Jesus isn't praising the manager's dishonesty, but his foresight and shrewdness in preparing for his future.
The lesson for believers ("people of the light") is to use temporary, worldly resources to invest in eternal things—relationships and the Kingdom of God—that will last forever.
