Raising the Widow's Son

Luke 7:11-17
Raising the Widow's Son - Luke 7:11-17 | Bible Hunger

"When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said to her, “Don’t cry.” He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”" (Luke 7:13-14)

Compassion Over Death

No one asked Jesus to do this. He saw the widow's grief—she had lost her husband and now her only son/provider—and His heart broke for her. He turned a funeral into a festival of life.

Key Lesson: Jesus sees our hidden griefs. His compassion is proactive; He moves to bring life where there is death.
