"Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it. When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom" (John 2:7-9)
The First Sign
This miracle, performed at a wedding feast, was Jesus' first public demonstration of His divine power. It wasn't just about saving a social gathering from embarrassment; it symbolized the new joy and abundance He brings.
By using the jars reserved for ceremonial washing, Jesus showed that He was transforming the old rituals of the law into something new and living.
